50 Years of IDEA-November
This month, Foothill SELPA honors five decades of progress under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)—a landmark law ensuring that every child with a disability has access to a free and appropriate public education.
Our November focus, “Beyond the Classroom: Comprehensive Supports and Student Success,” highlights the critical role of related services—including speech, occupational, and physical therapy; counseling; and specialized transportation—in helping students reach their full potential.
We also recognize National Family Caregivers Month, Diabetes and Epilepsy Awareness, and National School Psychology Week, honoring those who support the wellbeing and inclusion of all learners.
Join us in celebrating this milestone by promoting disability awareness, inclusion, and appreciation for the dedicated professionals who make education accessible to every student.
